This piece came through a process of meditative painting — allowing colour, movement and intuition to lead rather than beginning with a fixed idea of where it needed to go.
As the layers began to settle, I found myself drawn to the softness within the work. There is a quietness to it, but also a sense of movement and freedom. Looking at the colours flowing into one another gave me an unexpected feeling of peace.
And somewhere in that process, the words Righteous Daughter came to me.
It became a deeply personal reminder of identity — of being a daughter, known and loved by God. Not because of what I have done, achieved or managed to become, but simply because of who I am in His sight.
There is something incredibly freeing about returning to that truth. To stop striving for a moment. To release the need to prove, perfect or perform, and simply rest in knowing who you are.
Perhaps that is what I see most when I look at this work now: softness without weakness, movement without striving, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing where you belong.
