Limited edition
fine art prints
Free explores release, heaviness, and the slow movement toward lightness.
Created during a period of intentional pause, the painting marks a return to instinct rather than expectation. Deep blues anchor the base before gradually softening upward — echoing a shift from emotional weight into openness. Inspired by the idea that grief scatters like glitter, the work holds fragments of the past while lifting toward calm, balance, and creative freedom.
Within Liberation, Free reflects the experience of letting go — not abruptly, but through patience and presence — allowing freedom to emerge gently rather than forcefully.

Liberation
Liberation is a year-long body of work shaped by reflection, change, and becoming. Created during a significant personal and career shift, the series emerged slowly, revealing different emotional states as they surfaced — from resistance and surrender to grace, renewal, growth, and quiet joy.
Working primarily in oil, often for the first time, the process itself became part of the narrative. The medium demanded patience and attentiveness, allowing intuition and emotion to guide each layer.
Rather than depicting transformation as sudden or forceful, the works honour change as something lived, layered, and deeply human.
Heaviness is not erased, but transformed; what was endured becomes fertile. Liberation reflects freedom not as escape, but as integration — staying present long enough for something new to take root.
Joy does not replace heaviness, but grows from it; gratitude becomes the ground from which freedom emerges.
That Mountain was one of the first works in the Liberation series and marked my first experience working with oil — created at the beginning of my return to active art-making during my 2025 sabbatical.
The mountain embodies the tension between beauty and difficulty. From a distance, it appears lush and inviting; up close, it becomes dense, uneven, and resistant. The unfamiliarity of oil mirrored this terrain, demanding patience, surrender, and a willingness to learn through doing.
Rather than depicting triumph, the work captures a moment of decision — standing at the base of something demanding and choosing to climb without certainty of what lies beyond. It speaks to commitment, to entering unfamiliar ground emotionally and materially, trusting that something different waits beyond the ascent.

Beautiful Mess began as a small exploratory work, initially intended as a study of colour and mark-making. As the painting evolved, its softness became its strength.
Warm, muted tones and gentle layers create a sense of calm, while subtle imperfections and interruptions remain visible beneath the surface. The composition feels open and unforced, inviting the viewer to slow down and sit with what is present.
This work reflects the quiet complexity we carry — fragments that may feel incomplete on their own, yet together form something honest and uniquely beautiful. As part of Liberation, Beautiful Mess celebrates tenderness, acceptance, and the freedom that comes from allowing things to be exactly as they are.

What Takes Root carries a similar language of mark-making to Free, yet speaks from a different place. Where Free explored release and immersion, this work turns toward the earth — toward grounding, nourishment, and growth.
Dense, layered marks gather at the base of the canvas, suggesting depth and weight not as a burden but as a foundation. From this grounding, lighter tones and soft blooms emerge, evoking the arrival of flowers and the joy of new life rising from rich soil.
This work reflects the understanding that growth is not separate from depth. What once felt heavy becomes fertile. Joy does not erase what came before — it carries it. As the exhibition's closing work, What Takes Root speaks to transformation through integration, resilience, and becoming.
When Spring Arrives reflects renewal and the natural movement toward growth after a period of stillness. Inspired by the rhythms of nature, the work captures the subtle shift as life begins to re-emerge—new leaves, colour, and motion returning without demand.
Soft, gestural marks suggest flow rather than form, allowing the painting to feel open and alive. The transition unfolds gradually, guided by instinct rather than intention.
Within Liberation, When Spring Arrives marks a turning outward — a gentle re-engagement with the world after a season of introspection, and the quiet confidence that change is already underway.

Subtle Grace is a quiet reflection on unconditional love, healing, and grace freely given.
Created later in The Liberation Series, the work emerged from surrender rather than striving. Muted tones, open space, and restrained marks allow the painting to breathe — nothing imposed, nothing forced. Its simplicity reflects the understanding that true healing unfolds through subtlety, time, and presence.
Within the exhibition, Subtle Grace represents a settling — an integration of what has been carried and released — and a quiet recognition of being held without condition. It honours a grace that cannot be earned or explained, only received.
