About

Christine Meintjes’s journey embodies innovation, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. With a foundation in visual communication, she quickly rose to become one of South Africa’s most acclaimed photographers, breaking barriers as the first female ambassador for Nikon Southern Africa before turning 30. Her keen eye for opportunity led her to co-found two of the most impactful ventures in the creative entrepreneur realm in South Africa.

The first, The Pretty Blog, one of the country’s first and largest lifestyle blogs, cultivated a community united by an appreciation for aesthetics. Following the blog’s successful acquisition in 2019, Christine’s entrepreneurial spirit drove her to co-found The Local Edit, a curated e-commerce brand that showcases and sells South African independent designer products. Christine’s passion for storytelling found a new outlet in “Behind The Edit,” a podcast for The Local Edit, where she engaged in insightful conversations with makers, exploring their inspirations and creative processes.

After guiding The Local Edit through its foundational phase —building the brand and positioning it for growth—she stepped down as CEO and business partner to pursue other entrepreneurial ventures.

Her unique ability to connect dots and envision potential amid complexity has been the cornerstone of her success. This talent now forms the core of her advisory work, where she guides entrepreneurs to simplify, systematise, and strategise to build impactful ventures.

Christine continues to pursue her artistic journey through oil painting and photography, which offer glimpses into her multifaceted life. Her journey exemplifies the power of creativity, adaptability, and visionary thinking in the ever-evolving landscape of entrepreneurship.
